JOHNSTON HUNGRY FOR MORE INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS AT THE NORTH WEST 200

lee1Lee Johnston was a double winner at the Vauxhall International North West 200 in 2014 and the East Coast Racing /Burdens backed rider will be looking for more of the same when the opening race action gets underway on Thursday evening May 14. The Ulsterman and his ECR team, which is owned and run by parent company East Coast Construction and managed by former racer Jamie Ferguson, are already set up in the North Coast paddock just outside the picturesque town of Portstewart in County Londonderry. With BMW S1000RR machinery for the Superbike and Superstock classes at the North West and a 675cc Triumph for the Supersport races on Thursday and Saturday – the Maguiresbridge lad will be hoping to bring home some silverware. Lee Johnston: "It seems strange that I now live in England, yet one of the biggest races of the year for me is back in Northern Ireland at the North West 200. It's a place I love coming to race at and after the success of last year, we've got a taste for the top step, so let's hope we can do something similar this year. "Phil has provided me with competitive bikes again this season and although the competition will be pretty stiff here at the North West, I'm sure we can do a good job for East Coast Racing and all our associate sponsors." motul  Jamie Ferguson - Team Co-ordinator: "After a busy winter getting prepared it's good to be taking in the first international race of the season here at the North West 200. Lee has had a quiet but solid build up on the East Coast Racing /Burdens bikes. We're a small but effective team, and having won here last year, we come with expectation but there's no pressure on Lee. He is as hungry for success as anyone on the grid, so we're looking forward to what will hopefully be a good week's racing."
